INSTITUTE RELEASES VIDEO “ANXIETY”

If you haven’t been anticipating the upcoming Institute record, Readjusting the Locks, you’re crazy. The Austin/New York punk staple has been making slick music since their 2013 demo and have continued in their sloppy, slurred style with other releases sich as Giddy Boys (2014), Salt (2014), Catharsis (2015), and Subordination (2017). They’ve one of the most memorable KVRX sets and was the 6th installment on the Shout Recordings Beat Session last year.

And just before they set off for an overseas tour later this month, Sacred Bones Records released Institute’s first music video for a song off the upcoming LP, “Anxiety”, today. It’s a trippy view of the band with overlaid images and disorienting angles of snarls and snare hits. More psychedelia than slop, it’s a far cry from the dingy punk shows often associated with the band.
